Brexit Compliance Statement

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company (Europe) Limited (MSIEU) has transferred all live EEA risks on its portfolio as at 31st December 2020 to its sister companies MSIG Insurance Europe AG (MSIG AG), registered in Germany and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company of Europe SE (ANDI) registered in Luxembourg. All policyholders were made aware of which company their policy was transferred to prior to the transfer, with the agreement of all parties.

MSIEU will continue to handle the run-off of policies that expired prior to 31st December 2020 in accordance with the policy wording. If in the future there is a need to transfer any expired policy to one of our EU sister companies for claims handling purposes (either due to change in local laws or as assessed on a case by case basis for the benefit of the claimant) we will notify the policyholder / claimant accordingly. Claims should be notified to MSIEU as per the policy document or per the contact details provided in the Contact Us page of this website.

For any policy that expired prior to 31st December 2020 and was eligible for UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) protection, any claims under those policies will continue to enjoy FSCS protection. The MSIEU complaints procedure provided in this website continues to apply to any EU claimants in respect of run-off policies.
